Close-up of a single tooth gem placed on a lateral incisor

A dental craft, not a beauty service.

A tooth gem is a single Swarovski crystal or 18k gold charm bonded to the front surface of a tooth with light-cure dental composite. The crystal sits above the enamel; no part of the tooth is cut, drilled, or altered. Removal is clean and returns the tooth to its original state.

Placement is always on the labial surface of an incisor or canine, positioned for symmetry with your smile midline. A well-placed gem lasts six to eighteen months on average. When it falls off, the tooth is exactly as it was — no residue, no damage, no colour change.

Every placement at The Gemist Hub is performed by a clinician with a formal dental background. Where ninety percent of technicians in the industry work without dental training, we screen every client for enamel health before we touch a tooth.

Four steps, every single placement.

  1. 01

    Consult

A fifteen minute chair-side review. We look at your enamel, bite, and smile line. Bring reference images or we sketch from scratch. Nothing is placed until you and the clinician agree on the design.

  2. 02

    Design

Crystal, colour, position. We choose from the in-studio library or commission a custom piece with our jeweller. The design is confirmed in writing before the tooth is touched.

  3. 03

    Placement

Isolation, etch, bond, cure. The same protocol used for a clinical composite filling, applied to a surface smaller than a grain of rice. No drilling, no filing, no shortcuts.

  4. 04

    Aftercare

You leave with written aftercare and a two-week check-in booked. If the gem falls off inside six months we re-bond it at no cost.

Transparent pricing.

All placements include enamel screening, design consult, isolation and cure, and a two-week check-in. Group bookings of three or more receive a ten percent discount on the total.

Asked, answered.

Is it safe for my teeth? +

Yes. We use an enamel-safe dental adhesive, the same composite used in routine fillings. The enamel is never drilled, filed, or abraded. The bond sits above the tooth, not inside it, and the placement is fully reversible.

How long does it last? +

Six to eighteen months on average, depending on placement and bite mechanics. A few clients pass two years. The front surface of a canine or lateral incisor tends to hold longer than the edge of a central incisor.

Does it hurt? +

No. There is no drilling, no numbing, no nerve involvement. The etch gel is cool and the cure light is warm. Most clients describe the session as feeling like a routine dental clean.

Can I eat normally? +

Yes, after the first twenty-four hours. Avoid biting hard directly on the gem and skip ice, hard crusty bread, and raw apples on day one. After that, eat and drink as you normally would.

What if it falls off? +

We offer a free touch-up within thirty days. Keep the crystal in a small sealed container and message the studio. After thirty days a re-bond is $60 if you bring the original crystal.

How do I remove it? +

We remove it for you in a quick in-chair session. Removal takes under ten minutes and costs $60. Please do not attempt to remove it at home — you risk taking enamel with it.
